About Joy Dara Ministries

In 2000, Joy Dara Ministries was founded to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world. Our mission is simply to fulfill the assignment given by Jesus Christ to His followers to go into the world and make disciples of all nations. In addition, Joy Dara Ministries was founded to promote religious, educational and charitable purposes. We seek to change the world for the glory of God by changing people’s mindset towards God and changing people’s lives for the better. Our goal is to reach the lost for Jesus Christ and to equip and mature believers to live a victorious life. The Bible is our blue print and our road map. Using the Bible, we seek to see changes in the lives of individuals, families, businesses, churches, ministries and the society at large. Our aim is to teach the Word of God with clarity, simplicity and understanding.

During the same year, Joy Dara Ministries was duly incorporated as a Non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States of America. In 2002, Joy Dara Ministries, Inc. became qualified as an exempt organization under section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Dr. Joshua Joy Dara

Dr. Joshua Joy Dara was born in Ipee, Kwara State of Nigeria, West Africa. In 1980, he came to the United States to pursue higher education. In 1998, he became a United States citizen. He and his family now reside in Pineville, Louisiana, USA.

Dr. Dara earned an Associate of Arts degree from the Kwara State College of Technology and Basic Studies, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the California Baptist University, Riverside, California. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Southern University School of Law, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned the Masters of Law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Dr. Dara is licensed to practice law in the states of Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Additionally, he is licensed to practice law before the United States Federal Circuit, United States 5th Circuit, United States 8th Circuit, United States Court of Claims, and the United States Court of International Trade.

In 1980, Dr. Dara was called into the ministry. He served under various Pastors and Ministry leaders all across Africa and the United States as Pianist, Organist, Music Director, Minister of Music, Associate Pastor and/or Armor Bearer. In 1990, Dr. Dara was ordained as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is now a Pastor, Teacher, Television Evangelist, Musician, Recording Artist, Attorney at Law, Notary Public, Business man and Community Leader. Today, he is the Pastor of the Zion Hill Church family in the city of Pineville, Louisiana, USA. The church is one of the largest churches in Central Louisiana with more than 3000 members. Dr. Dara is a recipient of many honors, awards and recognitions both at home and abroad.

Dr. Dara is married to Elizabeth Joy Dara. They are blessed with five children.

Elizabeth Joy Dara

Elizabeth Joy Dara is the wife of Dr. Joshua Joy Dara, founder of the Joy Dara Ministries, Inc. She was born in Ipee, Kwara State of Nigeria, West Africa. In 1985, she got married to Dr. Joshua Joy Dara. In 1986, she immigrated to the United States to join her husband.

Elizabeth received her elementary and secondary education in Nigeria, West Africa. In 1981, she graduated from the Teachers College, Lokoja, Kwara State, Nigeria. In addition, Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Louisiana College, Pineville, Louisiana. She and Dr. Dara have five wonderful children.

Elizabeth is an anointed woman of God who is very dedicated to living by faith and inspiring others to do the same. She has worked faithfully with her husband in the ministry since it began in the year 2000. She strongly believes that her primary ministry is to be a Godly wife to her husband and to raise Godly children for the glory of God.
